Impact & Transparency
Etchline Cares exists because of a mix of paid Etchline NYC work, sponsors, PTAs/PTSO’s, and individual supporters. To honor that support—and to keep things honest for NYC schools—we share a simple snapshot of where things stand: what’s scheduled right now, and what it takes to fund it.
Numbers will change over time, but the goal stays the same: bring more “I made this” moments into NYC classrooms—especially for neurodivergent students and communities who are often overlooked.
Why this is a rare kind of enrichment
Etchline Cares offers something most NYC schools never see: a live, portable laser-engraving studio set up directly inside the classroom. Students choose from curated designs, personalize their keepsake, and watch it get laser engraved live during class—right in front of them.
It’s hands-on and unforgettable. Kids leave feeling proud because they watched something get made for them in real time. And because it happens during the school day, it removes the travel, scheduling, and “pay-per-child” barriers that often keep enrichment out of reach.
Built for all learners (including neurodivergent students)
Etchline Cares is designed to be welcoming for all learners, including neurodivergent students. We keep the experience structured, calm, and sensory-considerate—clear steps, supportive pacing when needed, and a warm maker environment so every child can participate confidently.
Transparent pricing: what it costs to fund a classroom
A fully funded Etchline Cares classroom workshop is priced as a school program (separate from corporate events):
- $1,800 — Fully funded first classroom workshop day (covers the full setup + classroom-safe safety approach)
- $1,300 — Each additional classroom booked on the same day (because travel/setup are already covered)
In a typical class of 28–32 students, that’s roughly $55–$65 per student for a live in-class enrichment experience that ends with a keepsake each student can bring home.
Note: The 25% NYC public school discount applies to Etchline NYC bulk engraved items and on-site event services. Etchline Cares is its own classroom program rate designed for school-day delivery and fundraising sponsorships.
What a sponsorship covers
- Classroom-safe laser setup and trained operator
- Curated design options + personalization workflow
- Structured, inclusive classroom pacing
- Safety approach (venting/filtration plan appropriate to the classroom environment)
- Program materials and a keepsake per student (varies by workshop theme)
Right now, here’s where things stand
That’s 4 classrooms scheduled in our pilot—serving an estimated 116+ students based on current class size info (IES 4A and 4B are 29+ students each).
*This is an estimate based on the currently scheduled IES pilot days (1 class on 12/19 and 3 classes on 1/9) at the rates above. Totals can vary by theme/materials and scheduling, and multi-class days reduce per-class costs.
